One person who won't be moving back into Melrose Place? Heather Locklear.


The actress -- who played the key role of Amanda Woodward on the original series -- has turned down an offer to join the cast of the CW's update of the hit Fox serial, EW has learned.

"There wasn't a way to bring her back that made sense," says a source close to the situation. While the network and studio won't comment, her reps do confirm that Locklear has passed. It's no secret that the CW was aggressively pursuing Locklear and will likely want to secure another star from the original show. The reboot, which is slated for the fall, has already cast Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Jessica Lucas, Michael Rady, and Katie Cassidy.

Heather took one look at the cast and decided that another swig of the bottle is better than appearing in this mess. Ashlee Simpson is returning to acting? She should return to the womb.

Heather Locklear was arrested and held in Santa Barbara County on Saturday, Access Hollywood has confirmed. A spokesman for the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Department told Access that the actress was arrested by the California Highway Patrol and released on Sunday.

According to The Associated Press, the actress, 47, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance in Montecito, a wealthy area of Santa Barbara that's home to celebs including Oprah and Rob Lowe.

The former "Melrose Place" star was reportedly pulled over by a CHP officer on Saturday afternoon after she was witnessed "driving erratically" upon leaving a parking lot, a CHP spokesman told the AP.

Locklear was taken into custody, where she was reportedly tested for alcohol and drugs. She was reportedly booked at 7 p.m. on suspicion of driving under the influence of prescription medication.

According to People, two months ago, Locklear was released from an Arizona facility where she spent four weeks receiving treatment for anxiety and depression.

"Heather's feeling really great," a friend told the mag at the time. "And she looks beautiful, just radiant."

Get well, Heather. We hate to see the classy heauxz go to the slammer.

David Spade: Heaux Up of the Day

David Spade is the father of Playboy playmate Jillian Grace's newborn daughter, Spade's representative said Thursday. The baby girl was born Aug. 26 in Missouri, and Spade plans to visit her on his first break from filming the CBS sitcom "Rules of Engagement," publicist Meredith O'Sullivan said.



The 44-year-old comedian told TMZ.com earlier this year that he had a brief relationship with Grace, and would accept responsibility if confirmed to be the father of her child.
