The Queen Is Robbed!

Trinidad and Tobago's Newsday is reporting that Queen Latifah was the victim of theft last Monday after someone stole more than $10,000 in jewelry from her villa in Tobago.


The actress/singer, born Dana Owens, was vacationing with a female friend at the $1,000-per-night Stone Haven Villas in Black Rock, Tobago, when burglars struck on Monday, the paper reported.

Latifah reportedly checked in under the name Cynthia Hadden. According to the newspaper, she returned from a barbecue brunch held in her honor by the establishment's management to discover a bracelet, two gold rings, a gold chain and a silver ring had disappeared from her room. Police were called to the resort after staff security conducted a search of the estate.

In Sunday's New York Times, Queen Latifah was again queried about her sexual preference during an interview to promote her new film "The Secret Life of Bees."

"I don't have a problem discussing the topic of somebody being gay, but I do have a problem discussing my personal life," said the 38-year-old entertainer.

"You don't get that part of me. Sorry," she added. "We're not discussing it in our meetings, we're not discussing it at Cover Girl...nobody gets that."

"I don't feel like I need to share my personal life, and I don't care if people think I'm gay or not," she said. "Assume whatever you want. You do it anyway."

We say leave the Queen alone to munch up all the snatch she wants.
