Dubai is synonymous with glitz and excess — but can the Middle Eastern hotspot handle the likes of Paris Hilton?

The fame-loving heiress is about to make her first trip to Dubai. The city, located in the United Arab Emirates, will be the location for an upcoming edition of her reality series “Paris Hilton’s My New BFF.”

Producer Michael Hirschorn said Wednesday that filming will begin later this month and last some three weeks. The finale will be filmed in Los Angeles.

Hirschorn said the show — and Hilton — will respect the culture of the region, and will be “walked through in great detail what is expected” and allowed.

Casting is under way to find contestants to compete for the chance to be Hilton’s new best friend — or BFF.

Hilton, 28, wants to expand her brand in the Arab world, said Hirschorn.

David Carradine: R.I.P.

David Carradine, star of the 1970s TV series “Kung Fu” whose career roared back to life when he played the assassin-turned-victim in Quentin Tarantino’s “Kill Bill,” was found dead Thursday in Thailand. Police said he appeared to have hanged himself.

The officer responsible for investigating the death, Teerapop Luanseng, said the 72-year-old actor was staying at a suite at the luxury Swissotel Nai Lert Park Hotel.

“I can confirm that we found his body, naked, hanging in the closet,” Teerapop said. He said police suspected suicide.

Mo'Nique: Skinny Bitches Are Still Evil!

Actress-comedian Mo'Nique says she knew it was time to lose weight when her husband, Sidney Hicks, watched her step off the scale at 262 pounds and said, "Baby, that's too much, and I want you for a lifetime."

"I decided that I had to get some of that off of me. Sid and I had a conversation. What he said to me was motivation," she tells the new issue of Jet magazine.

Now 40 pounds lighter, the entertainer and star of the upcoming film "Precious" is suddenly battling rumors that she underwent gastric–bypass.

"I'm so scared of needles," she said in denying the reports.

Instead, she made dietary sacrifices and stopped eating red meat and hit the gym. She says, "This was truly making the commitment to watch what I eat and commit to working out. I stopped eating red meat. I want to say to big people, 'Let's be healthy big people.' Everybody can't be a size 0... but let's be healthy.'"

Mo'Nique is now determined to get her weight down to 200 pounds.

Queen of Quiet Storm Returning!

Noted soul singer Sade is officially confirmed for a follow up to 2000s "Lover's Rock," her first effort in nearly nine years !

Recognized widely for her brand of soul, sometimes called "quiet storm," Sade scored multi-Platinum success with 1992s "Love Deluxe" and later followed with Lover's Rock.

According to Sony, Sade is in the studio now, with plans to release an as-yet-untitled album by years end.

"She is in the studio and the album will come when it is ready," a source from Sony confirmed with Billboard.

"You don't wait for years for one and then rush it."

Longtime bandmate Stuart Matthewman is confirmed for the project.

J-Hud Knocked Up!

A baby shower was thrown for Jennifer Hudson in downtown Chicago over the weekend, confirming rumors that the singer-actress must be pregnant, reports the Chicago Tribune.

Her fiance must have game, we must admit. He got her knocked up before she even got a ring. Not that it matters, bceause we know who has the dough!

"It was a baby shower, a quiet gathering of friends and mostly family," said fellow singer-actress and longtime friend Felicia Fields. "They're really trying to keep it kind of quiet."


Although Hudson's manager and publicist previously denied that she and fiancé David Otunga are expecting, Fields said the shower was held for her on Saturday at the home of a relative.

Fields wouldn't say when the baby is due, but speculation is that Hudson is several months along. So did she receive blue or pink gifts?"

She's 7 months along. Let's hope this doesn't turn out ilke the real Dreamgirls.
